Sabatos Prime Meats, a beloved family-owned butcher shop that's been part of the fabric of the community in the Belford section of Middletown since 1961, is closing this month.
It's a place that has deep Jersey roots going back 105 years. It first opened in Newark in 1915. There was a move to Irvington, stands at flea markets, and also a move to the Seaside Heights boardwalk along the way. It's a place where every customer is greeted with their first name and folks won't know what to do when they're gone.
