Authorities say a woman from Teaneck coughed and spit on police officers multiple times as she was being arrested, claiming to have coronavirus.

Police: Woman coughed, spit on police multiple times while claiming to have coronavirus during arrest
Authorities say a woman from Teaneck coughed and spit on police officers multiple times as she was being arrested, claiming to have coronavirus.

The incident happened Saturday when Englewood police were taking Sughuy Cepeda, 43, into custody for violating a restraining order.
According to police, Cepeda said she had tested positive for COVID-19 while spitting and coughing on the officers.

Police say they then brought her to a hospital, where she coughed at two police officers and spit a mouthful of water at them.
Cepeda was charged with making terroristic threats during an emergency, two counts of aggravated assault on an officer, obstruction, resisting arrest and violation of a temporary restraining order.
