Police in Burlington County are searching for a man they say assaulted a sushi restaurant employee and stole from the register.
They say the incident happened Sept. 23 at Mikado Japanese Sushi & Steak House on Route 70 in Evesham.
Police say a man wearing a gas mask came into the restaurant after closing time and sprayed the victim with pepper or bear spray. They say he then bound the woman’s hands and feet and put duct tape on her mouth. He then stole money from the register and ran away. Police say the victim was left tied up in the business until a coworker found her. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Authorities say a similar incident happened on Sept. 19 in Medford Township. They say a man was assaulted with grizzly bear spray during a robbery.
