What happened to Aileen Morris 30 years ago in South Brunswick?
This is the question investigators in Middlesex County are trying to answer as they seek the public’s help with a cold case murder.
Morris was shot to death while working at a Krauszer’s convenience store on Alston Road on Oct. 10, 1989. No one was ever charged for the crime.
South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka says that at the time of the murder he was a patrolman and was the first officer to respond to the scene.
Hayducka says in a statement, "Time may have passed, but we know the answers are out there. Someone reading this has that one piece of information that can help us catch the killer and they can remain anonymous."
Morris left behind nine children. They are hoping that the public can help in any way that they can.
“How could something like this go where nobody saw, heard or said anything? And that's where we get frustrated as a family. To think that there could be some information out there that was never brought to the attention of the police,” says Morris’s son, Shawn Donelson.
Anyone who may have information about the case is asked to call the South Brunswick Police Department at 732-329-4000 ext. 7496.
