Police in Elizabeth say a suspect tried to steal a car with a 3-year-old girl inside it earlier today.
Witnesses tell News 12 New Jersey they saw a Toyota Camry chase then crash into a BMW. That BMW then hit the car carrying the little girl. According to witnesses, the driver of the BMW got out of the car and tried to take off with the car the little girl was in.
The suspect was unable to get inside the car, and instead jumped into yet another car and sped off.
Police say the child was shaken by the incident, but smiling and relieved once she was reunited with her mother.
