Police say a motorcyclist was killed Thursday morning in a crash near the Outerbridge Crossing.

The accident happened around 6 a.m. on Route 440.

Officials say a 41-year-old man from Old Bridge was thrown from his Harley Davidson and struck by another vehicle.

They say the vehicle that struck the victim has not been identified.

Police say the ramp where the victim was thrown was closed for nearly four hours as crews cleaned and investigated the crash. 

The scene has since been cleared, and traffic has returned to normal.

Police say they are continuing to investigate.
