A Locust Valley group home resident admitted to setting a mattress on fire with eight people inside, police say.
Police say Lauren Gach did so at around 1 a.m. Friday at the home on First Street.
They say the six residents and two staff members were not hurt.
Police say the residents were taken to another facility.
