Police: Inert grenade found attached to a utility pole in Lakewood

Authorities determined the device posed no danger to the public.

Authorities say an inert grenade was found attached to a utility pole Sunday morning in Lakewood. they say the item was nonexplosive.
It was found in the area of Fourth and Forest avenues just before 8 a.m.
The state police bomb disposal unit was able to secure the device and it was removed.
"There is no danger to the public and this remains an active and ongoing investigation,” Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer wrote in a statement.
