Police: East Hanover mother, children vanish

Police say an East Hanover mother and her two children have been missing for three days. Patricia Schafer, 38, her 13-year-old son, John, and 3-year-old daughter, Jessica, were last seen by husband Douglas

Police say an East Hanover mother and her two children have been missing for three days.
Patricia Schafer, 38, her 13-year-old son, John, and 3-year-old daughter, Jessica, were last seen by husband Douglas Schafer at their home Thursday morning. According to police, Schafer is believed to be driving a metallic 2003 Saturn wagon with New Jersey license plate PFZ-77A.
According to a neighbor, Schafer is ill with cancer and had not left her home in about six months. Police say Schafer is 5 feet tall and weighs about 85 pounds.
