Barnegat police have identified two dogs responsible for attacking and killing another dog earlier this week.
The attack happened on July 7. The owner of the dog that was killed told News 12 New Jersey that two dogs she identified as pit bulls ran out from behind a trailer and attacked her dog, killing it almost instantly.
Julie Kline says that her neighbors had to hit the two dogs with a pipe and shovel to get them to stop attacking. The two dogs then ran off.
Police say that after multiple leads and tips, the two dogs were identified and will be quarantined for 10 days as required by the Ocean County Health Department.
The owner of the two dogs was identified as Angela Greco. Police says that Greco initially provided false information when she was confronted about the dogs. She was charged with obstructing the administration of the law, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and for violating leash requirements.
Police say that additional charges are pending.
