Law enforcement officials were called to a Brick Township home Thursday evening after a resident said they wanted to turn over what is being described as a very large number of cats.
Hazmat teams were inside the home located at Mantoloking and Stuyvesant roads. They ruled it safe for animal control officers to enter.
Officials say that the cats appear to be in good condition and will be brought to local animal shelters where they will eventually be put up for adoption.
Police say that this situation is not similar to an animal hoarding case in the township this past December.
Authorities say that in that situation, 180 dogs and cats were found in horrible conditions in a home. Two women from that case are facing animal cruelty charges.
Police say that so far no charges have been filed in Thursday’s case.
