An armed robber entered a wireless store in Longwood Friday afternoon and fired gunshots, police say.

The incident occurred at Modina Wireless on Westchester Avenue at about 2 p.m.

Police say the suspect entered the store and hit a female employee on the head with his gun. They say a worker from a neighboring store then entered in an effort to help the woman. Police say the robber then fired shots that hit the store's glass door.

The suspect then fled the scene. It was unclear whether the he was able to steal cash or goods from the store.

News 12 was told that the victim is in her early 20s and has been working in the store for only a few months. She was taken to the hospital.

Police say they will review the store's surveillance footage in an effort to identify the suspect.
