A 95-year-old woman died following a two-vehicle crash Monday in Middletown, according to police.

Authorities say it happened around 8:30 a.m. near Newman Springs and Spring Garden Roads.

Elizabeth Hannaway, of Lincroft, was taken to a hospital in Red Bank after an initial complaint about pain.

Police say she later died while receiving treatment.

Investigators are working to determine the exact cause of death and whether injuries from the crash contributed.
