Fire burns through apartment complex under construction in Long Branch

A third person has died following a fiery crash in Jackson Township.

The incident occurred just after 4:30 a.m. on Friday on North Hope Chapel Road near New Central Avenue.

Police say a minivan struck a deer and slammed into a tree, police said. The crash caused the vehicle to burst into flames, killing one person on impact and another due to the fire.

The third victim, along with two others, was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died.
