Today is a test for NJ Transit as it moves commuters and fans to the FIFA World Cup match between France and Senegal at 3 p.m. at NYNJ Stadium.

For NJ Transit commuters, the state is asking you to work from home today or expect very busy trains and train stations.

NJ Transit is the main way for fans to get to the game, but for commuters there will be an adjusted schedule.

MONDAY COVERAGE

Trains from Penn Station New York and Secaucus Junction will only be for fans traveling to NYNJ Stadium from 10:30 a.m. until 2:31 p.m.

At the end of the World Cup match, eastbound trains traveling to Penn Station New York will end at either Newark Penn Station or Newark Broad Street Station from about 5:23 p.m. until approximately 8:35 p.m.

Commuters will need to plan ahead and take the PATH or an NJ Transit bus; tickets will be cross-honored.

Meanwhile, some schools are adjusting schedules to deal with the impact. Jersey City Public Schools will have an early dismissal at 12:45 p.m., with all after-school activities canceled. Officials say the move is aimed at keeping students safe and avoiding travel complications during peak traffic.
