Police say three women from Somerset were killed when their car rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Route 1 in Woodbridge late Friday night.

Police say three women from Somerset were killed when their car rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Route 1 in Woodbridge late Friday night.
They say the collision happened near Ford Avenue around 11:50 p.m. Police say the driver of the 2012 Nissan Altima, 23-year-old Brianna Martinez and passengers 23-year-old Michaela Powell and 24-year-old Uchechukw Chukwuma were killed when the car crashed into the tractor-trailer as it began moving from a stop light.
They say Martinez was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where she died. Both passengers were pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say the truck driver stayed at the scene. They have not confirmed the speed the car was going at the time of the crash.
