The crime scene was steps away from a school doubling as a poll site for election night.
A long-time Hunts Point resident says he's surprised to hear the news, and says the neighborhood isn't as dangerous as it used to be.
"It used to be a lot crazier. You know, a lot of prostitution, drugs, you know, racing and a lot of crazy stuff. It's been cleaned up and everything. So, something really crazy must've happen or people from out of the neighborhoods starting stuff," said Edward Encarnacion, a local resident.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
