Police say 13-year-old boy was hit by a car in Jersey City on Wednesday.

The boy was trying to cross the street near Public School 17 on Bergen Avenue when the accident occurred, police say.

Authorities say the driver remained on the scene and the boy was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Police say no arrests have been made at this time.
