No one was injured on the groundwhen a small plane made an emergency landing in the parking lot of the Rockaway Townsquare Mall Tuesday.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Salac saysthe single-engine Cessna 172 had taken off from Caldwell Airportwith two people aboard when the pilot reported a rough runningengine.
The plane later came down in the parking lot of the mall.
JC Penney employee Nadia Acevedo says she saw the plane near herstore. The front end of the plane appears to be damaged.
The FAA says the pilot and passenger sustained minor injuries.
State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones says there are no reports ofinjuries to anyone on ground.
The landing marks the third incident involving small planes inNew Jersey this month.
