Police have arrested one suspect in the beating of a Woodbridge police officer and his friend after the NHL's Winter Classic game in Philadelphia. The victim's attorney says both the restaurant where the assaults took place and the bar where the assailants drank beforehand should also be held accountable in the attack. Dennis Veteri, 32, was arrested for allegedly assaulting Neal Auricchio and his friend, Michael Janocko, outside Geno's Steaks in Philadelphia. The attack on the two Rangers fans was caught on video, which quickly went viral. Officials say Auricchio will need surgery to stabilize broken bones behind his eyes, and Janocko also sustained head injuries in the attack. Ray Gill, an attorney for both victims, says Geno's should have provided security, considering the large crowds in town for the hockey game between the Rangers and the Phildelphia Flyers. Gill says Geno's could face legal action, along with the South Philly Bar and Grill, where Veteri and his friends drank before the fight, purportedly running up a bar of $250. Police are still searching for the other suspects seen in the video.
Auricchio will be attending the Rangers' Feb. 27 game against the Devils as a guest of Rangers head coach John Tortorella.
