The Honduran day laborer responsible for the sexual abuse and death of 10-year-old Walter Valenzuela has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Porfirio Jimenez was convicted on murder, kidnapping and other charges last October. Judge Salem Ahto called Jimenez a ?depraved, ferociously brutal pedophile? without remorse.

According to prosecutors, Jimenez kidnapped the boy from a Morristown playground prior to killing him. Jimenez?s lawyers claimed their client was both mentally retarded and insane when he committed the crime. Prior to hearing his sentence, Jimenez still maintained his innocence.

Isamar Contreras, the boy?s sister, had harsh words for the killer.

?Can a human being really have done this?? she asked. ?Can this man be human??
