Trenton residents took part in the second day of celebrations Saturday to commemorate Patriots' Week and New Jersey?s role in the birth of the nation.
Patriots' Week, which began Friday, is a five-day celebration organized by the Trenton Downtown Association to honor New Jersey?s role in the American Revolution. Residents say it is an experience to see actors and historical representations on the streets where they live their daily lives.
"It's an interesting juxtaposition,? Carrie Fellows, of Morristown, says. ?You've got 18th century soldiers marching down modern day streets in front of banks ? you can kind of put yourself in the place and travel back in time."
The celebration will last until Dec. 31 and features historical plays, workshops and activities for children, like a re-enactment of the first battle of Trenton and an interactive puppet show.
