A Saturday night shootout in Paterson left two men hospitalized, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. near Straight Street and Park Avenue, according to police.

A 33-year-old man was shot in the head and torso and remains in critical condition. A 28-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

Police say the men were firing at each other, but no charges have been announced. Their names have not been released.
