Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh has
announced an executive order of midnight closures of bars and restaurants seven
days a week.
The mayor made the announcement
this morning in a press conference, saying the city has seen an average of
cases in the 20s a day for the past few weeks – this week, the average is in
the 40s.
The announcement comes as
Hoboken and Newark implement similar closures this week as well. Hoboken Mayor
Ravi Bhalla signed an identical executive order for all bars and restaurants
around the town to shut down by midnight, beginning Thursday.
