Paterson resident Rob Jackson believes his meal ticket out of a rough New Jersey neighborhood is filming and releasing footage of raw street life.
The local filmmaker has been filming and releasing DVDs called G.P.D., short for Get Paid Dollars for about two years. Jackson says he?s had a candid view of Paterson?s underbelly and has shot footage of shootings, stabbings as well as footage of area gangs.
Jackson hopes the raw DVDs will afford him the opportunity to move. He says the television channel B.E.T. is planning to use some of his footage in a program in 2008.
He hopes to eventually leave the state and settle in the South or Midwest.
