We have been chalking up day after day of wonderful, albeit breezy, weather. The pattern hasn't favored storms, and when it did rain, it happened late at night.
The drought continues to intensify in certain areas. A little slower with recent rainfall, but we are still in a deficit for the month. We are a little more than halfway done with the month and we are 1 inch below what would have normally collected to this date.
Add the 2-inch deficit from September, and autumn is turning out to be very dry. It is probably the primary reason the fall colors are so muted this year.
Passing showers are in the forecast tonight. Not enough to put a dent in the drought, but we'll take anything we can get. Showers are likely to occur after midnight and linger until 5 a.m. Behind this weather system, breezy/ sunny and cooler weather will take over.
The weather for the remainder of the week will be lovely and autumn-like.
