A frightening threat Wednesday turned into a sad story for a New Milford mother who says her son has a history of drug use.
Police say 27-year-old Josh Allison called 911 and said he had a bomb inside his mother?s home. New Milford police, county police, a bomb squad and other units surrounded the Madison Avenue home and evacuated neighbors. However, Allison?s mother and grandmother refused to leave the home. Allison?s mother says amid all the commotion, Josh told her there was no bomb.
According to Allison?s mother, Josh has a history of drug problems and his paranoia prompted him to call in the bomb threat. Allison?s mother thanks police for handling the situation. The police chief says while the department is familiar with Allison?s problems, he has never went this far. There is still no word on if charges will be filed.
