8ds agoMany Democrats in New Jersey are voicing their support for Vice President Kamala Harris and her 2024 presidential campaign.
Rep. Mikie Sherrill was among the fires to call for President Joe Biden to drop out of the race. Sherrill says the focus now on Harris will energize her party.
Polls show a slight bump from Biden to Harris when it comes to taking on former President Donald Trump in the 2024 race, but Sherrill says this will increase.
“As people across the country get to know Kamala Harris, they're gonna share the excitement that so many of us who do know her feel right now,” Sherrill told News 12.
The congresswoman says that the Democratic Party is vibrant and full of ideas.
“We believe deeply in democracy…this gives new life to the party with a sense of palpable excitement,” she says.
She says she expects New Jersey’s delegates will largely fall in line in support of Harris.
