The Orange County Sheriff's Office has introduced the new county police chief.

Chief Meredith McGovern has been with the department since 2009.

McGovern has held every civil service rank within the agency.

As a sergeant, she was assigned to the FBI white collar crime task force.

She went on to serve as patrol lieutenant, investigations lieutenant and then held the rank of captain for the last two years.

She is also an FBI National Academy graduate.
