Two Newark police officers have been indefinitely suspended without pay after a photo circulating on social media appears to show the officers sleeping in their patrol car.
A spokesperson for Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé says that he became aware of the photo on May 31 and launched an investigation.
“Pending the outcome of the investigation, the two police officers have been suspended,” the spokesperson said.
It was unclear when or where the photo was taken.
