A fire at a New Milford apartment building Monday morning left multiple people displaced.
Authorities say the flames broke out just after 9 a.m. at the New Milford Estates Apartments.
Several fire departments and 30 firefighters went to the scene to extinguish the flames.
"We were fortunate to get the manpower here fast and get the fire under control quickly,” said New Milford Fire Department Chief Gerard Smithson.
No one was home at the time, but fire officials say nearby apartments were evacuated as a precaution.
Several families were impacted by the fire and are receiving help from the Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
Officials say they believe an overloaded electrical outlet may have sparked the fire. However, the cause remains under investigation.
