As of Wednesday morning, the truck is no longer lodged in the limo business, but there is extensive damage and debris.

The lane blocked off on the Route 3 and Passaic Ave. exit ramp has also reopened.

On Tuesday, as more crews arrived to pull the truck out, it caught fire and spread to the building. Specifics on how it sparked have not been confirmed.

Tuesday coverage

Investigators are piecing together why the driver crashed into the building early Monday morning.

In surveillance video, the driver is seen losing control, veering off Route 3 and right into the limo business' building around 2:20 a.m.

Officials say the driver was alert when he had to be extricated from the cab, which was trapped inside the building.

He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

Then, a person on the second floor had to be rescued by ladder.

Officials also say the truck hit gas and electric service, which was quickly cut off.

The truck was apparently hauling dog food.
