In honor of Wawa's 62nd anniversary Thursday, the popular convenience store chain will be giving out free coffee to customers who use their rewards app.

Rewards members can get one free hot coffee, any size, at any of Wawa's 1,200 locations. Customers must log into the Wawa Rewards app to redeem the "bonus reward" for the free coffee when they get to the register.

“Each year, Wawa Day presents a special opportunity to express our gratitude to the people and partners across our flock,” said Brian Schaller, Wawa president, in a press release.

Wawa opened its first retail business on April 16, 1964, in Pennsylvania. The chain marked its 50th anniversary by holding the first Wawa Day and launching the Wawa Foundation — a nonprofit supporting various charities.
