Officials say a building partially collapsed due to a fire in Irvington on Monday.
The incident occurred just before 6:15 a.m. between 22nd Street and 20th Avenue.
"There were some squatters as reported who were self evacuating," said Irivington Fire Department chief Antonio Gary. "Crews did a tremendous job extinguishing it. We had multiple localized collapses of the floors and ceilings and the roof so we are having a difficult time really getting inside to do a primary and secondary search"
Gary added there were a lot of combustible material inside the structure combined with the ceiling collapse causing hot spots to continue to flare up.
No information on whether anyone was inside the building when the fire began, officials say.
No injuries were reported.
