Officials announce plans to help control bad smell coming from Tinton Falls landfill

Monmouth County officials say that there are plans in place to help control a bad smell coming from a landfill in Tinton Falls that has been impacting the community.

County officials say that complaints are down and that the county plans to start building a new phase of the landfill next year that will add 30 acres.

County Commissioner Tom Arnone says that the project is set to begin next September.

Officials say that the landfill’s odor will never completely go away, but they have taken steps to control it.
