Passaic fire officials say that 11 people have been displaced by a three-alarm house fire.
The first started just after 2 p.m. Tuesday on High Street. Officials say that the flames were so strong that they caused part of the roof of the house to collapse.
"The preliminary report is that the fire started in what we think is the kitchen. The kitchen area on the first floor, possibly near the basement electrical panel. We'll be investigating that. We were told that two parents and nine siblings or relatives were living here," says Passaic Fire Chief Patrick Trentacost Sr.
Minor injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
