Official: Unattended bag prompted relocation of travelers Monday at Newark Liberty International Airport

A spokesperson with the Port Authority says police responded Monday around 8 p.m. to an unattended bag in Terminal C Level 1 in the baggage claim area at Newark Liberty International Airport.

A spokesperson with the Port Authority says police responded Monday around 8 p.m. to an unattended bag in Terminal C Level 1 in the baggage claim area at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Police relocated travelers who were on Level 1 to outside of the terminal as a precaution until the Essex County Bomb Squad arrived.
The bag was cleared and passengers returned back to Level 1 around 9:15 pm.
All levels at Terminal C have since reopened.
