Ocean County reaches milestone with COVID-19 vaccines; daily cases plummet

A milestone in COVID-19 vaccines was reached last week in Ocean County, as the health department announced they have now surpassed 100,000 vaccine doses to people in the county.

A milestone in COVID-19 vaccines was reached last week in Ocean County, as the health department announced they have now surpassed 100,000 vaccine doses to people in the county.
According to the health department, the number of positive cases reported on Sunday also plummeted to just 29. 
When combined with public and private entities, the health department says vaccinations in the county have surpassed 400,000. Close to 200,000 people are fully vaccinated.

Daily figures have been at or below the 100-case mark now for several weeks. The 29 cases reported Sunday marks one of the lowest seen in months. 
The decrease in case totals come as restrictions continue to be lifted. Restaurants over the weekend were packed with moms and families as people are ready to return to normalcy. 
Vaccines are still available and walk in options at the county-run sites are open.
