Charlies of Bay Head,
a popular restaurant in Ocean County, has closed after multiple positive COVID-19
tests.
The restaurant went public on its
social media pages about why the spot
had to temporarily close, following the lead of several restaurants last
week in
Asbury Park.
The news comes as another example of a restaurant trying to be upfront and
honest with its guests.
According to the social media
post, the restaurant already had strict COVID-19 precautions in place,
including daily temperature checks, enhanced HVAC features, and daily
sanitization. Despite the efforts, the restaurant reports a few positive cases and has since
shut for a period of time to let further cleaning crews go over the
facility.
In the post, management writes,
"We remain diligent and
committed in our efforts in offering a welcoming, safe, and secure environment.
We will keep the public updated as to when we will be reopening our
doors."
The post did not specify if
the cases were from employees or guests, or an exact date when they would
reopen.
