Parts of Ocean County were slammed with severe wind and rain Friday evening, toppling trees onto cars and homes.
The storm began around 6:00 p.m. Neighbors and relatives came together to witness the damage done to their town. Trees and branches fell across roadways blocking traffic.
Winds were reported reaching nearly 60 mph, causing some large trees to uproot. Timothy Basket, of Toms River, says the sky immediately turned black, and it looked like a hurricane hit the town.
No injuries were reported.
