Both Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) squeezed in time to vote in their home cities Tuesday while making a few last stops on their campaign trails and settling into their headquarters to watch the results.

McCain held a midnight rally in Arizona and also made stops in Colorado and New Mexico. Thousands of McCain supporters were invited to his headquarters at the Biltmore resort in Phoenix.

Despite polls that show Obama up in many battleground states, as well as a prediction that Obama will win by Karl Rove, the McCain camp was extremely optimistic.

Obama had one scheduled stop on Tuesday in Indiana, but spent the rest of his day voting, playing basketball with friends and preparing for a night at his headquarters in Grant Park in Chicago. Obama is expected to speak to a crowd of hundreds of thousands of his supporters outdoors, no matter what the outcome of the election.
