Nursing mothers will now have a convenient place to nurse their child while traveling.
Newark Liberty International Airport unveiled new "nursing pods" Thursday, just in time for Mother's Day. The pods allow mothers a private and clean place to nurse while at the airport.
"We received numerous requests from traveling families, working moms to have a private place for them to nurse their babies and pump their breast milk," says Diane Tapaianni, a spokesperson for the airport.
The pods lock from the inside and provide a comfortable environment for the mother and child.
There are currently two pods located inside Terminal B beyond the security checkpoints. The Port Authority plans to install more pods soon.
