I know it didn't feel like it, but it hasn't been this mild all month.
Daily highs reaching for the mid to upper 40’s. There is a storm that is cruising through Western New York bringing decent snow to ski country throughout the Catskills and Adirondacks.
The track of this system is well to our north and west, which places New Jersey on the milder side of things. There is a little bit of snow falling through Sussex County, but most of the precipitation that we see will be in the form of rain. Worst case scenario with snow would be an inch in the highest elevations.
The weather maker tonight doesn't bring much in the way of wet or wintry conditions, but it will, once again, lower the boom on New Jersey with dropping temperatures.
The main story will be about cold conditions that will feel even colder with gusty winds. I think this is going to be the main theme in the winter outlook this season.
Decent snow stays west and north, and cold windy weather will be the main weather story. It will remain below average for the remainder of the work/ school week.
The next opportunity for storminess will be at the end of the weekend. Computer guidance is still hinting at the chance of a storm dropping through southern New Jersey and shaking out accumulating snows throughout the State.
As for how much? That is still a meteorological lifetime away.
