Federal investigators say human error may be to blame for the fatal crash of Continental Connection Flight 3407 outside of Buffalo, N.Y. last month.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board, the flight data recorder does not show the plane had icing problems before it crashed, as it was previously thought.
Officials say it appears an automatic sensor went off during the flight, warning of a stall condition. After the warning, investigators say the pilot probably pulled back on the controls rather than pushing forward on it, thus increasing his chances of stalling the plane.
The flight left Newark Liberty Airport Feb. 12 and crashed into a home 5 miles short of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, killing all 49 people aboard, including 12 New Jerseyans, and one person in the home.
