The Super Bowl halftime show that featured Madonna as well as special guests Nikki Manaj, Cee Lo, LMFAO and M.I.A. also came with a dose of controversy.

During the performance, M.I.A. made an obscene gesture while singing. It appeared NBC made a belated attempt to block the move and fumbled. The obscene gesture was seen by an estimated 114 million viewers, even more than the estimated 111 million viewers who tuned in on the TV for the game.

Seton Hall Professor Stuart Katz of the university's Strategic Communications Program and a seasoned veteran producer of live sporting events says he doesn't buy the network's apology. Professor Katz says that equipment for the Super Bowl is tested over and over again before the actual event.
