Norwalk officials and residents are facing the choice of whether to allow recreational marijuana sales and where to allow smoking in public.
Connecticut is a patchwork of policies when it comes to marijuana – some towns and cities allow sales and smoking in public, while a number of places in Fairfield County have decided to put restrictions in place.
An online public forum was held Monday to get the public's input on the issue.
The regulation would allow three retailers in Norwalk but prohibit use on public property. That means the city will have to designate a specific location where cannabis can be legally used.
On Tuesday, a committee will look at the proposal and if they approve it, it will go on to the Common Council.
