A non-commuter NJ Transit train derailed early Wednesday morning at New York Penn Station, an NJ Transit official said.
The train, which an Amtrak crew was operating, derailed on Track 4. The official said that while the engine derailed in the yard, the train cars blocked station tracks. As of 6:05 a.m., the train was re-railed, and tracks one through five were blocked, the NJ Transit official said.
Amtrak crews removed the locomotive engine. No injuries were reported.
The NJ Transit official said train service in and out of New York was subject to up to 20 minute delays, but regular service returned around 6:30 a.m.
