A three-hour standoff in Elizabeth ended peacefully Saturday despite shots being fired at officers.
The standoff began around 12:30 a.m. after police found a car parked at Warinanco Park.
When officers approached the car, the driver yelled at them to be left alone.
Investigators say 41-year-old Jeffrey Arana then fired a shot, shattering the driver's side window.
After three hours of talking with negotiators, Arana surrendered.
There is no word on charges that will be filed.
