Animal welfare officials have accused an animal rescue group of selling sick puppies.
New Jersey State SPCA police say Pound Puppy Protection Rescue of New Jersey sold three sick pups at PetSmart on Route 1 in North Brunswick around Halloween.
The NJSPCA police received three separate complaints from families whose pups tested positive for canine parvovirus. Two of the puppies died and a third recovered after extensive treatment.
Pound Puppy Protection Rescue owner Christine Yurgel is facing animal cruelty charges.
Anyone who bought the puppies should call the organization at 800-582-5979.
