NJ Transit tells News 12 New Jersey that a 16-year-old boy was killed on the train tracks just north of the Spring Lake train station at 10 p.m. last night.

So far, the identity of the boy has not been released pending family notification. Trains are expected to run normally for the morning commute. An NJ Transit spokesperson could not confirm if the station was a part of the new safety measures being rolled out by the transportation system to prevent fatalities on the tracks.
